But to his dismay, Niall Pamplin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Ivan Clark took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pat Hackney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Waltham Cross's Ivor Kenna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darius Burbeary in the 55th minute of play. Jeff Dunn scored 5-0 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ivor Kenna, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Waltham Cross's zone, Darius Burbeary stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivor Kenna came out of the goal and Darius Burbeary tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ivor Kenna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeff Dunn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75thth minute of the game Tommy Wing who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Berwich FC's Ivan Clark was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 81 minutes of play, Berwich FC's Jeff Dunn made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivor Kenna was left in no man's land by his defense there! Waltham Cross's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Darius Burbeary was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Berwich FC fully deserved thier win.
