Seating: 1716, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Conal Ridgeway started the match with the kick off. In the 6th minute, Redbourn United's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Barrie Halford fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Barrie Halford managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thanet's supporters rose to their feet, but Barrie Halford was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bill Stead breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bill Stead made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Barrie Halford sent off a good shot on target. When Felix Housham fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Redbourn United's protests and gave Felix Housham a yellow card for diving instead. Barrie Halford's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bill Stead read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. When Barrie Halford came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Thanet fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barrie Halford couldn't finish the play. In the 33rd minute, Barrie Halford reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bill Stead. The goal made the score 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Rufus Mortimer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Redbourn United's supporters rose to their feet, but Rufus Mortimer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rhys Morrell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Harry Longstaff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Rhys Morrell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Harry Longstaff stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Timothy Price fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 52nd match minute, Redbourn United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timothy Price to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Redbourn United booed when Thanet was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barrie Halford didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 54 played minutes Redbourn United got a freekick which was hit by Timothy Price. 58 minutes in the game, Rufus Mortimer fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Rhys Morrell having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Redbourn United's zone, Conal Ridgeway stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bill Stead came out of the goal and Conal Ridgeway tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Barrie Halford recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 71 minutes, Barrie Halford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thanet's supporters crossed their fingers, but Barrie Halford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
