Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Timothy Pitt started the match with the kick off. Eric Charles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Stu Oliver tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Sporting Hill FC's Eric Charles in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Blackpool's goalie prevented a goal. A hard shot by Matty Whitman from long distance, 14 minutes into the match, got Darius Butt's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Christopher Griffiths charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christopher Griffiths the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Giles Caine hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Mike Frost fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stu Oliver having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Blackpool's Timothy Pitt got a free kick in the 36th minute. The Blackpool players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sporting Hill FC were winning 0-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eric Charles to make the kick off. If Garth Short had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sporting Hill FC's Eric Charles got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eric Charles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stu Oliver having to interfere. Darius Butt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timothy Pitt, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After 71st play minutes Eric Charles shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Stu Oliver and just under the crossbar into goal. 75 minutes into the match, Blackpool's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Charles came free, but Stu Oliver reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tom Millman made in the 77th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Sporting Hill FC's Mike Frost. Jordan Knight charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jordan Knight the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 80 played minutes Blackpool got a freekick which was hit by Jordan Knight. Eric Charles who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 81stth minute tested the skills of Stu Oliver when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Timothy Pitt hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Blackpool's Stu Oliver got control of the ball when Garth Short tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mike Frost recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 94 minutes, Eric Charles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Hill FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Charles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Mike Frost came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Sporting Hill FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mike Frost couldn't finish the play. The Blackpool fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sporting Hill FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
