The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Comberton City's Lance Burrows got a free kick in the 7th minute. The audience was convinced that Barrie Constantine's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Seb Daly was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Lance Burrows blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stevie Baird having to make a save. 13 minutes into the game, Rhys Ramsden was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Timperley's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Comberton City the free kick. After a rather tough play, Timperley's Rhys Ramsden got a free kick in the 13th minute. Lance Burrows received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Stevie Baird tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Barrie Constantine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Seb Daly having to interfere. After having played for 24 minutes, Barrie Constantine managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Timperley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Barrie Constantine was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Comberton City getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Lance Burrows hit a great ball. Allan Gascoigne was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 30th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Comberton City's Lance Burrows got a free kick in the 31st minute. Comberton City's Seb Daly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barrie Constantine in the 34th minute of play. Jacob Slatter charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jacob Slatter the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 37th minute of the game. One of Comberton City:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Timperley:s goal. Comberton City's Seb Daly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barrie Constantine in the 43rd minute of play. After 44 minutes, Adrian Kaye made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Comberton City's Seb Daly tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Barrie Constantine blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Seb Daly having to make a save. Timperley's Barrie Constantine managed to work through Comberton City's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Barrie Constantine dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Adrian Kaye's late challenge caught a Comberton City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adrian Kaye helped the player get up and apologised. Barrie Constantine came free with the goalkeeper in the 60th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Seb Daly could save by the left post. A collision led to Timperley getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Adrian Kaye hit a great ball. After 64 played minutes Timperley's Barrie Constantine stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Seb Daly stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Comberton City of the goal. Adrian Kaye's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Seb Daly read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Barrie Constantine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Seb Daly having to interfere. Comberton City's Seb Daly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Kaye in the 69th minute of play. After 69 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Comberton City! Allan Gascoigne shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Seb Daly showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Kaye in the 73rd minute of the match. Seb Daly made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Barrie Constantine sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Comberton City's zone, Barrie Constantine stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Seb Daly came out of the goal and Barrie Constantine tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Timperley's Adrian Kaye got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Timperley's Adrian Kaye slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Seb Daly. That made the score 0-3 after 91 minutes of play. Olly Braithwaite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Stevie Baird tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Loyd Shields had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Comberton City supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Timperley's performance. The match ended with a win for Timperley.
