The supporters of Chelsea F.C. booed when Timperley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Allan Gascoigne didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andre Ealham struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Stevie Baird didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chelsea F.C.. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Glyn Fisher couldn't finish the play. 25 minutes into the game, Justin Crtichell cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Sebastien Cooke was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sebastien Cooke came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Timperley's Barrie Constantine. But to his dismay, Barrie Constantine quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 37th minute, Robin Haigh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 39 minutes of play, Chelsea F.C.'s Johnathon Bambrook made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
