Spectators: 6915 (Terracing: 5575, Seating: 1320, VIP seats: 20) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dean Windahl kicked off to start the match. Brendon Walters took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kenny Hoskins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 6th match minute, Birkenshaw Rovers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dean Windahl to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Whitehawk's Vlad Avendaño got a free kick in the 11th minute. Dean Windahl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Lewis Pearson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kenny Hoskins struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Brendon Walters didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Whitehawk. When Kenny Hoskins came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Whitehawk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kenny Hoskins couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kenny Hoskins in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brendon Walters saved Birkenshaw Rovers from getting behind. Lewis Pearson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dean Windahl in the 27th minute of the match. Bruce Bilton was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 30 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Whitehawk fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 29th minute. Penalty! After 33 played minutes Whitehawk got a freekick which was hit by Vlad Avendaño. Vlad Avendaño sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Vlad Avendaño came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Whitehawk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vlad Avendaño couldn't finish the play. Matt Bennett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brendon Walters having to interfere. Lewis Pearson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pat Seaward, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. 48 minutes into the match, Dean Windahl had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lewis Pearson. Whitehawk's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dean Windahl was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The Whitehawk players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Birkenshaw Rovers were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Matt Bennett was the one to do the kick off. Vlad Avendaño hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Pat Seaward could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Lewis Pearson made a huge save. Dean Windahl hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 58th minute Dean Windahl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lewis Pearson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alex Danciu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brendon Walters having to interfere. Birkenshaw Rovers's Pat Seaward got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lewis Pearson made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Pat Seaward sent off a good shot on target. Birkenshaw Rovers's Brendon Walters played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vlad Avendaño in the 82nd minute of play. Birkenshaw Rovers's attentive Ronnie Beckett managed to snatch the ball when Dennis Sheene made a throw-in in the 86th minute of the game. In the 88th minute Dean Windahl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lewis Pearson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute of the match, Pat Seaward got a very nice opportunity to score, but Lewis Pearson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Birkenshaw Rovers's Pat Seaward slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lewis Pearson. That made the score 0-2 after 90 minutes of play. Vlad Avendaño charged in rather forcefully in the 98th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vlad Avendaño the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Chants of Birkenshaw Rovers echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Whitehawk had held the ball for most of the match.
