Cromer were furious when Gary Woolcock was red carded, 12 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Daniel Whitmore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elektric Power's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Whitmore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jo Silk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elektric Power's Guilian Ivens got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Louie Thompson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Jo Silk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Daniel Whitmore came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Elektric Power fans jumped to their feet. After a defensive mix-up in Cromer's zone, Daniel Whitmore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jo Silk came out of the goal and Daniel Whitmore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Louie Thompson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jo Silk having to make a save. Louie Thompson had several of the Cromer's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 44 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-0 score and a disappointed Jo Silk as he didn't even see the shot coming. Ross Lloyd's late challenge caught a Cromer's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ross Lloyd helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cromer booed when Elektric Power was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ross Lloyd didn't get a good kick on the ball.

After a defensive mix-up in Elektric Power's zone, Conal Ferrell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Russell Corby came out of the goal and Conal Ferrell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Louie Thompson in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jo Silk prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mickey Nottingham might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jo Silk. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mickey Nottingham ran back to his position shaking his head. Cromer's Jo Silk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ross Lloyd in the 89th minute of play.
