Spectators: 6706 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1706, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dean Haylock got the match started through his kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Tod Farrell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stocksbridge FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tod Farrell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charlie Le Saux breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jerome Unsworth charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerome Unsworth the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Finchley's Jerome Unsworth got a free kick in the 6th minute. Charlie Le Saux stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dean Haylock's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicholas Kearney during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 9th minute, Nicholas Kearney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th match minute, Finchley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicholas Kearney to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute, Dean Haylock made a precise shot to the right of Charlie Le Saux. Finchley's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 19th minute, Nicholas Kearney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Tod Farrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Finchley's Nicholas Kearney got a free kick in the 21st minute. Tod Farrell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 29 minutes into the match, Finchley's goal looked a bit too open when Tod Farrell came free, but Charlie Le Saux reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mike Alsford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abraham Cooper having to interfere. Nicholas Kearney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Abraham Cooper tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mike Alsford struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Abraham Cooper didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Finchley. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mike Alsford to make the kick off. Al Spears fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abraham Cooper having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Stocksbridge FC's Dean Haylock ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Charlie Le Saux. Charlie Le Saux yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Abraham Cooper showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Al Spears, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Dean Haylock recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Finchley! When the match had been going on for 67 minutes, Stocksbridge FC's Zackary Blakeley got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Charlie Le Saux. In the 78th minute Dean Haylock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charlie Le Saux saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th match minute, Finchley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conal Pelc to maneuver through the defense. Tod Farrell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charlie Le Saux having to interfere. If Al Spears had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mike Alsford recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 91 minutes into the game, Tod Farrell cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Charlie Le Saux was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Finchley getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Nicholas Kearney hit a great ball. 100 minutes had been played when some careless play by Finchley's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Zackary Blakeley was slow to take the kick. During this time Stocksbridge FC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Sidney Beckett got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Charlie Le Saux quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The Stocksbridge FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
