Spectators: 6726 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Graeme Eagles got the match started through his kick off. After 6 played minutes, Viktoria Plzen's Doug Brook shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Casey Hunt came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Viktoria Plzen reached it. After 7 minutes of play, Viktoria Plzen's Eric Fowler made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Casey Hunt was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jamal Bridgewater took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Casey Hunt. Casey Hunt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Maylandsea's zone, Eric Fowler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Casey Hunt came out of the goal and Eric Fowler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julian Platt charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Julian Platt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Maylandsea getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Julian Platt hit a great ball. After 17 minutes of play, Viktoria Plzen's Eric Fowler made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Casey Hunt was left in no man's land by his defense there! Casey Hunt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jamal Bridgewater, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. When Viktoria Plzen's Jamal Bridgewater in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Maylandsea's goalie prevented a goal. If Jon Glasby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute, Julian Platt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Jamal Bridgewater, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 31 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Casey Hunt was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Jon Glasby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Calum Doughty had to leave the field with a concussion. After 40 minutes, Dan Willis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Viktoria Plzen and the Maylandsea players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 41 played minutes Viktoria Plzen got a freekick which was hit by Dan Willis. After recieving a nice pass, Maylandsea's Wally Lister tried to score from far away in the 42nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Viktoria Plzen's Kev Ripley got a free kick in the 44th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jamal Bridgewater in the 46th minute of play forced Maylandsea's goalkeeper Casey Hunt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Jamal Bridgewater made the kick off in the second half. Adam Carter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jon Glasby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jamal Bridgewater had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Seth Prutton during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Maylandsea's Seth Prutton got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Eric Fowler struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Casey Hunt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Viktoria Plzen. A hard shot 68 in the game by Stew Apsden from a close distance when the talented Casey Hunt managed to make a qualified save. Maylandsea's players were relieved. With an all-out effort, Viktoria Plzen's Casey Hunt threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jamal Bridgewater, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Adam Carter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jon Glasby, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Brendon Kingston hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 75th minute, David Barone sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Maylandsea's Casey Hunt didn't even have to move. Casey Hunt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jamal Bridgewater in the 79th minute of play. When Jamal Bridgewater came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Viktoria Plzen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jamal Bridgewater couldn't finish the play. In the 86th match minute, Viktoria Plzen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stew Apsden to maneuver through the defense. Eric Fowler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 90 minutes into the game, Wally Lister was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maylandsea's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Viktoria Plzen the free kick. The goalkeeper, Casey Hunt, was totally fooled by Viktoria Plzen's David Barone, who 92 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 95th minute Jamal Bridgewater shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casey Hunt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eric Fowler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casey Hunt having to interfere. Viktoria Plzen's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
