After having played for 18 minutes, Raimundas Jacevičius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lindfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raimundas Jacevičius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 21st minute, Gary Mayo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Attleborough United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 25 minutes into the game, Kenny White cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Tommy Stiles's late challenge caught a Attleborough United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tommy Stiles helped the player get up and apologised. Tommy Stiles kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Attleborough United's Alfie Charles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaudencio Fero in the 42nd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Gaudencio Fero made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute of the match Attleborough United got a corner. Lindfield's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Christopher Peake ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Attleborough United's Christopher Peake to fire away a dangerous shot which Sid Howson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Attleborough United's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundas Jacevičius came free, but Alfie Charles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sid Howson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gary Mayo in the 65th minute of the match. If Billie Scriven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute of the match Carl Wray sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sid Howson skillfully saved the ball. Alfie Charles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basil Goodall, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Sid Howson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Billie Scriven in the 94th minute. A collision led to Attleborough United getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Niall Brighton hit a great ball. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Lindfield lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
