Mangotsfield FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Martyn Symons was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 8 minutes into the game, Matty Howden was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mangotsfield FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Formby the free kick. Matty Howden kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Freddie Bloom was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 9th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 10 played minutes Marlon Lynch rounded Mangotsfield FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. Keith Gold made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bill Kitching in the 13th minute of play. Keith Gold stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ollie Booker's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. 3-0 became the score in the 22nd minute when Martyn Symons elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 27th minute, Formby's Marlon Lynch dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. Edward Murphy made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Martyn Symons sent off a good shot on target. In the 36th minute Marlon Lynch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edward Murphy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marlon Lynch in the 38th minute of play forced Mangotsfield FC's goalkeeper Edward Murphy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Martyn Symons managed to get in a good position for a shot. Formby's supporters rose to their feet, but Martyn Symons was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edward Murphy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Martyn Symons who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of Edward Murphy when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Marlon Lynch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martyn Symons received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Edward Murphy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Ollie Booker made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Martyn Symons cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Edward Murphy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Formby getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Rowan Meadowcroft hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martyn Symons in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edward Murphy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jeff Harris kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Mangotsfield FC's Len Gould got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 62nd minute, Marlon Lynch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Formby's Martyn Symons in 63 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Edward Murphy guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Ollie Booker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martyn Dudgeon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Formby's Marlon Lynch got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Martyn Symons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marcus Bond charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcus Bond the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marcus Bond kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Mangotsfield FC's Edward Murphy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martyn Symons in the 78th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Martyn Symons managed to get in a good position for a shot. Formby's supporters rose to their feet, but Martyn Symons was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edward Murphy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edward Murphy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marlon Lynch, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Mangotsfield FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marlon Lynch came free, but Edward Murphy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martyn Symons received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Edward Murphy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Formby booed when Mangotsfield FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bill Kitching didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee ended the match the Formby players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
