Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jerry Thomson kicked off to start the match. After 3 played minutes Ahked FC got a freekick which was hit by Bruce Bradley. Martyn Riad was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 4th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 6th minute of the game. One of Ahked FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Haverhill City:s goal. Gav Longley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Eddie Taggart made a huge save. Boruc Lampe hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Eddie Taggart was a little too slow when Gav Longley got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 14th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 19th minute there was a penalty for Ahked FC. Martin Nethercoat stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Chris Burkinshaw. 1-1. 25 minutes into the match, Jamie Longley dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eddie Taggart, 2-1. Haverhill City's Chris Burkinshaw played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nat Ackroyd in the 29th minute of play. Chris Burkinshaw didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nat Ackroyd went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Chris Burkinshaw showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruce Bradley, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jamie Longley to make the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Bruce Bradley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ahked FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruce Bradley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Jerry Thomson came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Ahked FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerry Thomson couldn't finish the play. Nat Ackroyd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chris Burkinshaw having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Ahked FC's Bruce Bradley ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Chris Burkinshaw. Chris Burkinshaw yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. Chris Burkinshaw came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Ahked FC's Bruce Bradley. But to his dismay, Bruce Bradley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Nat Ackroyd hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute Bruce Bradley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chris Burkinshaw saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jerry Thomson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chris Burkinshaw having to interfere. In the 82nd match minute, Haverhill City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Grant Harkin to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute, Gav Longley made a precise shot to the right of Eddie Taggart. Ahked FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-4. Bruce Bradley might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Chris Burkinshaw. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bruce Bradley ran back to his position shaking his head. 94 minutes into the match, Nat Ackroyd dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Chris Burkinshaw, 3-5.
