The crowd rose to their feet as Jeffrey Green kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Frank Ridsdale. That made the score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ian Midson in the 13th minute of play forced FENERBAHCE FC's goalkeeper Richard Aldridge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Graeme Slator fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Ridsdale having to interfere. A hard shot 27 in the game by Graeme Slator from a close distance when the talented Frank Ridsdale managed to make a qualified save. Lymm's players were relieved. 29 minutes into the game, John Paul Kearney was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lymm's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FENERBAHCE FC the free kick. In the 30th minute, Lewis Kearney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Harry Clist took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Frank Ridsdale. Lymm's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Caleb Mowlem hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. When Jeffrey Green came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the FENERBAHCE FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeffrey Green couldn't finish the play. FENERBAHCE FC's Graeme Slator got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Graeme Slator in the 41stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Frank Ridsdale, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If William Atkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jeffrey Green was the one to do the kick off. William Atkins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when William Atkins got free with Richard Aldridge in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lymm's Frank Ridsdale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Graeme Slator in the 59th minute of play. After 63 played minutes, FENERBAHCE FC's Derek Swift shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Frank Ridsdale came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FENERBAHCE FC reached it. Frank Ridsdale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeffrey Green, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caleb Mowlem kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the match, Lymm's goal looked a bit too open when Graeme Slator came free, but Frank Ridsdale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Graeme Slator sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Graeme Slator received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Frank Ridsdale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeffrey Green recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Lymm's goal looked a bit too open when Graeme Slator came free, but Frank Ridsdale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Ridsdale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeffrey Green in the 89th minute of the match. FENERBAHCE FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lymm for a fine match.
