Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Crispin Winter took the kick off in the first half of the match. Calvin Logan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Rich White tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, High Legh United's Deon Crowell got a free kick in the 11th minute. After having played for 12 minutes, Crispin Winter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Huyton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Crispin Winter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Calvin Logan in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rich White prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Shane Robertson was a little too slow when Seth Downham got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 24th minute, Calvin Logan made a precise shot to the right of Rich White. High Legh United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Calvin Logan struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Rich White didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Huyton. Rich White came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Huyton's Crispin Winter. But to his dismay, Crispin Winter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Seth Downham managed to get in a good position for a shot. High Legh United's supporters rose to their feet, but Seth Downham was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shane Robertson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 34 minutes, Calvin Sheldon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Huyton and the High Legh United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 34th match minute, Huyton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Calvin Sheldon to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute, Seth Downham ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Shane Robertson was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Rich White came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Huyton's Calvin Logan. But to his dismay, Calvin Logan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Shane Robertson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Seth Downham's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. After the first half Huyton were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Seth Downham made a kick off. Calvin Logan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rich White having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, High Legh United's goal looked a bit too open when Crispin Winter came free, but Rich White reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tommy Little hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute of the match, Robert Mann sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Rich White showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. Rich White was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Crispin Winter capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Crispin Winter really showed his touch with that goal: 2-4. 69 minutes into the match, High Legh United's goalkeeper Rich White had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Calvin Logan. If Seth Downham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joel Ambrose sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Crispin Winter in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rich White saved High Legh United from getting behind. Simon Leather's late challenge caught a Huyton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Simon Leather helped the player get up and apologised. Simon Leather kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. In the 90th minute, Joel Ambrose ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Shane Robertson was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-4. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Huyton walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
