Kenny Baxter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Anthony Button tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Wimbledon City's zone, Brendon Crooks stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anthony Button came out of the goal and Brendon Crooks tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Moore's Ben Whitehead got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Brendon Crooks managed to get in a good position for a shot. Moore's supporters rose to their feet, but Brendon Crooks was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anthony Button breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Kenny Baxter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Moore's Brendon Crooks got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pat Hill kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Anthony Button showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenny Baxter, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Spike Street in the 30th minute of play forced Moore's goalkeeper Guy Robinson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Kenny Baxter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Brendon Crooks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 48th minute, Jonny Askew got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The wind increased when Spike Street made the kick off in the second half. Lucas Togwell charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lucas Togwell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Moore booed when Wimbledon City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Togwell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Moore's Tim Lucas broke free in the 53rd minute of the match and struck a powerful long shot that almost became a goal, but instead the ball went outside the right post. An obvious chance of a goal. Alexander Appleton scored 1-0 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Guy Robinson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Wimbledon City's Anthony Button played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tim Lucas in the 65th minute of play. In the 68th minute Spike Street shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guy Robinson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 71st minute, Moore's Tim Lucas dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Anthony Button stood somewhat misplaced when Brendon Crooks came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 75 minute. 77 minutes into the game, Ben Whitehead was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Moore's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wimbledon City the free kick. In the 78th match minute, Moore was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ben Whitehead to maneuver through the defense. During the 85th minute of the match Ben Whitehead completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ben Whitehead a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 86 played minutes Moore got a freekick which was hit by Ben Whitehead. Kenny Baxter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Moore's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
