Darren Hitchcock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rio Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After 53 played minutes Devizes got a freekick which was hit by Vince Ward. 58 minutes into the match, Devizes's goal looked a bit too open when Bob Gill came free, but Darren Hitchcock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robin Nancy might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alastair Ingram. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robin Nancy ran back to his position shaking his head. Diss's Rio Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Diss's Alastair Ingram played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andy Wicks in the 70th minute of play. If Bob Gill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bob Gill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Darren Hitchcock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bob Gill in the 82nd minute of play. In the 91st minute, Andy Wicks left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net.
