Spectators: 7120 (Terracing: 5619, Seating: 1501, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dennis Bradfield kicked off to start the match. Bob Watkinson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grant Draper in the 5th minute of play. Bob Watkinson came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Playing Place's Grant Draper. But to his dismay, Grant Draper quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Danny Crittenden kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 12th minute, Dennis Bradfield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Playing Place's goalkeeper Larry Bayliff, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Alexander Bartram fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leek United's protests and gave Alexander Bartram a yellow card for diving instead. Alexander Bartram kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. If Graham Peyton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21stth minute of the game Grant Draper who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leek United's Bob Watkinson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Playing Place's Grant Draper in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Leek United's goalie prevented a goal. Al Foreman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Larry Bayliff having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Leek United's Brian Gill got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 41st minute, Graham Peyton made a precise shot to the right of Bob Watkinson. Leek United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. When Playing Place's Graham Peyton, in the 45th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Playing Place.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Grant Draper made a kick off. Playing Place's Grant Draper got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Grant Draper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Grant Draper in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bob Watkinson saved Leek United from getting behind. In the 58th minute, Brian Gill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Danny Crittenden kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Graham Peyton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Brian Gill was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 69 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Leek United's Brian Gill got a free kick in the 70th minute. 71 minutes into the match, Leek United's goalkeeper Bob Watkinson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Graham Peyton. Graham Peyton who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Bob Watkinson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bob Watkinson was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Grant Draper capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Grant Draper really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. With a little luck, Leek United's Bob Watkinson got control of the ball when Danny Crittenden tried to sneak it across the goal line. Grant Draper fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bob Watkinson having to interfere. After some careless play in the Leek United defense, Graham Peyton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bob Watkinson. The Leek United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bob Watkinson should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Playing Place's Vernon Love got a free kick in the 89th minute. 94 minutes into the match, Leek United's goal looked a bit too open when Grant Draper came free, but Bob Watkinson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Playing Place could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Leek United throughout the match.
