Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Austin Hopkinson kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Pitts in the 7th minute of play forced Sandown FC's goalkeeper Ivan Flack to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Nathan Goldsmith fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cleobury Mortimer's protests and gave Nathan Goldsmith a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Nathan Goldsmith hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peter Nicoll showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robbie Trotter in the 14th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Gez Edworthy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th match minute, Sandown FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barrie Doughty to maneuver through the defense. If Austin Hopkinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luke Winship struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Ivan Flack didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cleobury Mortimer. Peter Pitts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Flack having to interfere. Leigh Pollock kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After having played for 32 minutes, Micheal Gilroy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cleobury Mortimer's supporters crossed their fingers, but Micheal Gilroy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivor Coton in the 33rd minute of play forced Sandown FC's goalkeeper Ivan Flack to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Sandown FC's zone, Peter Pitts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Flack came out of the goal and Peter Pitts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ivan Milligan kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Peter Nicoll made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robbie Trotter in the 43rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sandown FC's zone, Ivor Coton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Flack came out of the goal and Ivor Coton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Austin Hopkinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cleobury Mortimer were awarded a corner in the 49th minute after Sandown FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Austin Hopkinson took the corner. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robbie Trotter to make the kick off. Micheal Gilroy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Ivan Flack tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Micheal Gilroy struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Ivan Flack didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cleobury Mortimer. Ivan Flack showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivor Coton, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivan Milligan during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Sandown FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Ivan Milligan hit a great ball. Austin Hopkinson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Flack having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sandown FC's Ivan Milligan got a free kick in the 72nd minute. If Austin Hopkinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the match, Sandown FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ivor Coton came free, but Ivan Flack reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tommy Hitchcock scored 2-0 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Peter Nicoll, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Hitchcock in the 81st minute of play forced Cleobury Mortimer's goalkeeper Peter Nicoll to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Peter Pitts had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ivan Flack. Sandown FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Peter Pitts was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 90 minutes into the match, Ivor Coton dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ivan Flack, 2-2. Nathan Goldsmith recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
