Casey Medley hit a great ball. 5 minutes into the match, Ken Champion dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ivan Flack, 1-0. 14 minutes into the game, Tommy Hitchcock was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Scott Rusby, 15 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Chesney Gulliver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute, Ivan Milligan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 24 minutes into the match, Sandown FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ken Champion came free, but Ivan Flack reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ken Champion in the 30th minute of play forced Sandown FC's goalkeeper Ivan Flack to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Robbie Trotter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, Robbie Trotter notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Dracula Boys's Louie Munday. Louie Munday was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Louie Munday took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barrie Doughty, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Dracula Boys getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Nicky Giles hit a great ball. In the 41st minute of the match Rowan Eglington shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Louie Munday showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 42 played minutes Dracula Boys got a freekick which was hit by Ken Champion. Ivan Flack stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ken Champion's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

If Robbie Trotter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leigh Pollock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
