In the 7th minute Alastair Fairfax shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cliff Tipton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 7 played minutes Intersports fc got a freekick which was hit by Philip Zamora. CJ Darnbrooke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sean West got free with Andrew Campbell in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Huey Medley scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cliff Tipton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 24 played minutes Intersports fc got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Fawell. CJ Darnbrooke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. David Ashby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Conal Hanson struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Cliff Tipton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atletico United. When Atletico United's Alastair Fairfax in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Intersports fc's goalie prevented a goal. Conal Hanson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cliff Tipton came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Atletico United's CJ Darnbrooke. But to his dismay, CJ Darnbrooke quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 47thth minute of the game Alastair Fairfax who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Intersports fc's Cliff Tipton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

CJ Darnbrooke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cliff Tipton having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfred Blakeley during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 57th minute, Alfred Blakeley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Conal Hanson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Derek Midson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Cliff Tipton made a huge save. Cliff Tipton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from CJ Darnbrooke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Atletico United's Cliff Tipton threw himself towards the right post 71 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alastair Fairfax, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 76 minutes, Huey Medley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atletico United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Huey Medley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Huey Medley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atletico United's supporters rose to their feet, but Huey Medley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cliff Tipton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cliff Tipton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Derek Midson, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. The audience was convinced that Alastair Fairfax's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cliff Tipton was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. After having played for 86 minutes, Alastair Fairfax managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atletico United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alastair Fairfax was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Fawell in the 88th minute of play forced Atletico United's goalkeeper Andrew Campbell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sean West fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrew Campbell having to interfere. Atletico United played a much better game than Intersports fc and deserved their victory. The Intersports fc players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
