In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Intersports fc's goalkeeper Cliff Tipton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sean West fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Marenghi having to interfere. Seb Dale kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Romandinho LFC's Guy Knowles got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tristram Brookes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tristram Brookes got free with Cliff Tipton in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 33rd minute, Sean West got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sebastian Fawell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Victor Marenghi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Intersports fc defense, Tristram Brookes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cliff Tipton. The Intersports fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cliff Tipton should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Intersports fc getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Alfred Blakeley hit a great ball. Cliff Tipton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guy Knowles, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sebastian Fawell to make the kick off. Intersports fc's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jack Winstanley in the 53rd minute. The corner ended in Jack Winstanley almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Romandinho LFC's Victor Marenghi did a great save. In the 56th minute, Sean West got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cliff Tipton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tristram Brookes in the 60th minute of play. Romandinho LFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Sebastian Fawell scored to the left of an out of position Victor Marenghi, making the score, 1-2. 68 minutes into the match, Intersports fc's Sean West sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Victor Marenghi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 69 played minutes Romandinho LFC got a freekick which was hit by Gary Walmsley. Sean West who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Victor Marenghi when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 71st match minute, Romandinho LFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frazer Canning to maneuver through the defense. Sean West's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victor Marenghi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Frazer Canning hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jack Winstanley hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. If Sean West had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Intersports fc supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Intersports fc would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
