Barry Sheene sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Romandinho LFC's zone, Barry Sheene stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victor Marenghi came out of the goal and Barry Sheene tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Danny Thurman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gary Walmsley in the 21st minute of the match. When Romandinho LFC's Guy Knowles in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Penge's goalie prevented a goal. Romandinho LFC's Victor Marenghi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barry Sheene in the 29th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Barry Sheene ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Victor Marenghi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 38th play minute Tristram Brookes came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Danny Thurman. 1-2. Gary Walmsley hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Zane Patton's late challenge caught a Romandinho LFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zane Patton helped the player get up and apologised. Zane Patton kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guy Knowles was the one to do the kick off. After 53rd play minutes Tristram Brookes shot 2-2, a short shot which went by Danny Thurman and just under the crossbar into goal. After 56 minutes, Frazer Canning mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Romandinho LFC and the Penge players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Romandinho LFC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Frazer Canning hit a great ball. When Frazer Canning was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 62 minutes had been played. Frazer Canning hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Victor Marenghi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barry Sheene, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Victor Marenghi made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Phil Fawcett sent off a good shot on target. If Barry Sheene had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tristram Brookes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Danny Thurman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tristram Brookes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Danny Thurman having to make a save. Tristram Brookes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Danny Thurman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Barry Sheene took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Victor Marenghi to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Romandinho LFC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Gary Walmsley hit a great ball. Barry Sheene sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Victor Marenghi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barry Sheene in the 96th minute of play. After having played for 97 minutes, Nicky Charles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Penge's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicky Charles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Penge's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
