Osp boys's Wayne Boothroyd played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Coote in the 5th minute of play. Osp boys's Brendon Carlisle shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 17th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Cliff Heywood but with some difficulty. If Laurence Brownlow had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wayne Boothroyd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnathan Mann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 35 played minutes, Osp boys's Lewis Milton shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cliff Heywood came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Osp boys reached it. In the 36th minute Al Sinclair shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cliff Heywood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th minute of the match Lewis Milton sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cliff Heywood skillfully saved the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Al Sinclair made a kick off. After 52 played minutes Redruth AFC got a freekick which was hit by John Nelson. Cliff Heywood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Huey Lomas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcus Coote hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Johnathan Mann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wayne Boothroyd having to interfere. Laurence Brownlow blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wayne Boothroyd having to make a save. Aaron Blake received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Cliff Heywood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Redruth AFC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Colin Mayall hit a great ball. Al Sinclair fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cliff Heywood having to interfere. Redruth AFC's Johnathan Mann got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Redruth AFC booed when Osp boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Blake didn't get a good kick on the ball.
