An unexpectedly hard shot by Alastair Fairfax in the 17th minute of play forced Romandinho LFC's goalkeeper Victor Marenghi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Alastair Fairfax put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Victor Marenghi. Victor Marenghi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from CJ Darnbrooke in the 30th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Romandinho LFC's goal looked a bit too open when Doug Weston came free, but Victor Marenghi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Guy Knowles made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alastair Fairfax got free with Victor Marenghi in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 63rd minute, CJ Darnbrooke fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Victor Marenghi, passed just outside the right post. Conal Hanson struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Victor Marenghi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atletico United. When Conal Hanson came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Atletico United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Conal Hanson couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lance Gilroy during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lance Gilroy hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute, Conal Hanson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Atletico United's Conal Hanson got a free kick in the 73rd minute. If CJ Darnbrooke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. When the match was over Atletico United could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Romandinho LFC throughout the match.
