Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Naija Draig's Phil Burns started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Phil Burns struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Guy Hurst didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Naija Draig. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Max Caine managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thrybergh AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Max Caine was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. John Harris breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Simon Skipton kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Naija Draig's John Harris proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Naija Draig from getting a goal against them. John Harris made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Simon Skipton sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Phil Burns's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guy Hurst was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Guy Hurst didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fred Westerby went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 24 minutes into the match, Thrybergh AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Phil Burns came free, but Guy Hurst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute Max Caine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John Harris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Phil Burns put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Guy Hurst. Phil Burns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 33rd minute, Ronnie Boston hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fred Westerby, 34 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phil Burns in the 36th minute of play forced Thrybergh AFC's goalkeeper Guy Hurst to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Phil Burns's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guy Hurst was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Naija Draig's Fred Westerby got a free kick in the 40th minute. Ronnie Boston hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Phil Burns fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guy Hurst having to interfere. Simon Skipton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but John Harris made a huge save. After the first half Naija Draig were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

51 minutes into the match, Thrybergh AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Westerby came free, but Guy Hurst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andy Martin kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Phil Burns in the 59thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Guy Hurst, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Phil Burns received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Guy Hurst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 63 minutes, Max Caine mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Thrybergh AFC and the Naija Draig players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Naija Draig booed when Thrybergh AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Max Caine didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Naija Draig defense, Max Caine kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of John Harris. The Naija Draig fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that John Harris should have stopped the shot. Guy Hurst made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Phil Burns sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jimmy Cheswick during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 77 played minutes Thrybergh AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jimmy Cheswick. In the 79th play minute Phil Burns came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Guy Hurst. 1-3. Naija Draig's Phil Burns got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fred Westerby hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. The supporters of Naija Draig booed when Thrybergh AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Len Beckwith didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th minute of the match Len Beckwith sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but John Harris skillfully saved the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Naija Draig had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
