Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Vinnie Selby started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Vinnie Selby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Guy Hurst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kieran Cahill during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 14th minute, Kieran Cahill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dean Titmus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Max Caine in the 15th minute of the match. In the 17th minute Max Caine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dean Titmus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Prescot's zone, Jimmy Cheswick stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dean Titmus came out of the goal and Jimmy Cheswick tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sean Archer's late challenge caught a Prescot's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sean Archer helped the player get up and apologised. After 21 played minutes Thrybergh AFC got a freekick which was hit by Sean Archer. Prescot's Dean Titmus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Max Caine in the 26th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Prescot's Sonny Brooke got a free kick in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Max Caine in the 31st minute of play forced Prescot's goalkeeper Dean Titmus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. John Drysdale hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Phillip Shields received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Dean Titmus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guy Hurst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinnie Selby, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After a rather tough play, Prescot's Ricky Duke got a free kick in the 41st minute. Dean Titmus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Max Caine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 49 minutes into the match, Prescot's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Skipton came free, but Dean Titmus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Max Caine made the kick off in the second half. If Vinnie Selby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phillip Shields sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dean Titmus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Max Caine in the 57th minute of the match. Prescot's Dean Titmus proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Prescot from getting a goal against them. In the 59th minute, John Drysdale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Max Caine managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thrybergh AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Max Caine was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dean Titmus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Prescot's Dean Titmus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Max Caine in the 66th minute of play. After having played for 75 minutes, Max Caine managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thrybergh AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Max Caine was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ricky Duke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Vinnie Selby's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guy Hurst was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Phillip Shields struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Dean Titmus didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thrybergh AFC. Max Caine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dean Titmus having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
