In the 20th minute, Dylan Carr sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Naija Draig's John Harris didn't even have to move. Ricky Duke hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 24th match minute, Prescot was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sonny Brooke to maneuver through the defense. Dean Titmus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phil Burns in the 26th minute of play. In the 29th minute, John Drysdale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30thth minute of the game Phil Burns who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Prescot's Dean Titmus was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 31 minutes, Fred Westerby managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Naija Draig's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fred Westerby was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Phil Burns got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Naija Draig's John Harris proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Naija Draig from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Prescot's zone, Phil Burns stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dean Titmus came out of the goal and Phil Burns tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 45 minutes of play, Prescot's Malcolm Gordon made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. John Harris was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

John Harris came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Prescot's Vinnie Selby. But to his dismay, Vinnie Selby quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 59th minute, Vinnie Selby ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. John Harris was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. After 62 minutes, Ricky Duke made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Naija Draig's John Harris tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 69 played minutes, Prescot's Greg Godsall shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper John Harris came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Prescot reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Drysdale in the 72nd minute of play forced Naija Draig's goalkeeper John Harris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Naija Draig's Damion Lister got a free kick in the 89th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricky Duke in the 92nd minute of play forced Naija Draig's goalkeeper John Harris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Prescot's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
