John Harris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bill Greenwood, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Graeme Simpson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Carlton Copsey showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. Phil Burns who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 9thth minute tested the skills of Graeme Simpson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Wolf City's Graeme Simpson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Wolf City from getting a goal against them. When Phil Burns came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Naija Draig fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phil Burns couldn't finish the play. Graeme Simpson made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Thom Brady sent off a good shot on target. Phil Burns fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Graeme Simpson having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Phil Burns put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Graeme Simpson. Thom Brady received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Graeme Simpson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Phil Burns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Buster Dowrick stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Phil Burns managed to get in a good position for a shot. Naija Draig's supporters rose to their feet, but Phil Burns was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Graeme Simpson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 57th minute Carlton Copsey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Graeme Simpson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fred Westerby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Graeme Simpson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Wolf City's zone, Phil Burns stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Graeme Simpson came out of the goal and Phil Burns tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christian Theakston hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After 89 minutes, Phil Burns made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Wolf City's Graeme Simpson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Naija Draig's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
