In the 5th minute Guy Wilson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Hornsby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 6 minutes into the game, Jasper Riad was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dorchester's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wareham the free kick. After a rather tough play, Dorchester's Jasper Riad got a free kick in the 6th minute. Guy Wiley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Liam Monk in the 12th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Justin Midson got free with Joel Hornsby in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Dorchester defense, Jack Lawson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joel Hornsby. The Dorchester fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joel Hornsby should have stopped the shot. Guy Wiley didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jasper Riad went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Joel Hornsby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justin Midson in the 25th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the game, Howard Whitford was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Guy Wiley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jasper Riad, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. With a little luck, Wareham's Guy Wiley got control of the ball when Jasper Riad tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 71 minutes of play, Wareham's Justin Midson made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joel Hornsby was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wareham's Guy Wiley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liam Monk in the 76th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Dorchester eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
