If Darius Walker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zack Henwood's late challenge caught a Heathfield Rangers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zack Henwood helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Hayling Island FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Zack Henwood hit a great ball. Dominic Mahon struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Billy MacDonald didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Heathfield Rangers. The Heathfield Rangers fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Heathfield Rangers's Darius Walker looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Darius Walker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Austen Pinder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Heathfield Rangers's Kev Steadman got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Hayling Island FC defense, Jordan Nelthorpe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Billy MacDonald. The Hayling Island FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Billy MacDonald should have stopped the shot. In the 32nd minute of the match Heathfield Rangers got a corner. Hayling Island FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Austen Pinder ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Austen Pinder almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hayling Island FC's Billy MacDonald did a great save. Heathfield Rangers's Austen Pinder got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 38 minutes, Gerry Munday managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Heathfield Rangers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerry Munday was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Piers Parks charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Piers Parks the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 40th minute, Piers Parks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Billy MacDonald made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Austen Pinder in the 45th minute of play. Darius Walker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Hayling Island FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Heathfield Rangers were winning 0-3.

56 minutes into the game, Dominic Mahon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Billy MacDonald was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dominic Mahon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Billy MacDonald having to interfere. Gerry Munday charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gerry Munday the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 60 played minutes Heathfield Rangers got a freekick which was hit by Gerry Munday. Zack Henwood hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Brynn Constantine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Dylon Pettifer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Darius Walker came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Heathfield Rangers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darius Walker couldn't finish the play. Austen Pinder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Billy MacDonald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Heathfield Rangers's Dominic Mahon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Billy MacDonald narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Heathfield Rangers's Austen Pinder got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Hayling Island FC's zone, Dominic Mahon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Billy MacDonald came out of the goal and Dominic Mahon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Austen Pinder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Austen Pinder struck a weak shot in the 90th minute.
