Liam Eldridge started the match with the kick off. Stew Patterson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugh Elwick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hugh Elwick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Miles Carroll had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miles Carroll sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cringleford FC's Hugh Elwick got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th match minute, Cringleford FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremy Macken to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes into the match, Bruce Ellerker sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Andre Renton threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Bruce Ellerker this time. Miles Carroll sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stew Patterson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugh Elwick in the 34th minute of the match. Liam Eldridge's late challenge caught a Cringleford FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Liam Eldridge helped the player get up and apologised. Liam Eldridge kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. If Hugh Elwick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stew Patterson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Miles Carroll's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Elland Road Faithful's Stew Patterson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miles Carroll in the 48th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miles Carroll was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Brynn Jewson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stew Patterson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When Miles Carroll came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Cringleford FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miles Carroll couldn't finish the play. In the 58th minute, Hugh Elwick got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Miles Carroll managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cringleford FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Miles Carroll was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stew Patterson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Elland Road Faithful defense, Miles Carroll kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stew Patterson. The Elland Road Faithful fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stew Patterson should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Cringleford FC's zone, Liam Eldridge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andre Renton came out of the goal and Liam Eldridge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Elland Road Faithful getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Jacob Mallon hit a great ball. Cringleford FC were awarded a corner in the 76th minute after Elland Road Faithful's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jeremy Macken took the corner. After taking down the ball on Cringleford FC's corner Jeremy Macken fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Stew Patterson quite easily take care of the ball. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Elland Road Faithful's goalkeeper Stew Patterson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Miles Carroll received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Stew Patterson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 87th minute of the game. One of Elland Road Faithful:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cringleford FC:s goal. The referee gave Cringleford FC a penalty, 89 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jeremy Macken, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Elland Road Faithful's Stew Patterson. 1-3. Hugh Elwick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stew Patterson having to interfere. The Elland Road Faithful fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Cringleford FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
