Spectators: 7509 (Terracing: 5632, Seating: 1727, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sly Neville took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 4 played minutes Sly Neville rounded Omega United's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Des Lilley during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th minute there was a penalty for Omega United. Jimmy Hepburn stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Junior Chiverton. 1-1. Craig Rutherford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Junior Chiverton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Omega United's Craig Rutherford got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Martyn Ainsworth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Junior Chiverton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martyn Ainsworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Junior Chiverton having to interfere. In the 27thth minute of the game Craig Rutherford who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FYR of Slough's Junior Chiverton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Howard Atkinson fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Omega United's protests and gave Howard Atkinson a yellow card for diving instead. Howard Atkinson kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Syd Corbridge fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 44th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball bounced in the crossbar and then went out. It was a very nice shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Craig Rutherford to make the kick off. Junior Chiverton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Craig Rutherford in the 53rd minute of the match. If Sly Neville had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Ivan Wallbank put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Oliver Bow. Martyn Ainsworth's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Junior Chiverton firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 68 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FYR of Slough! The referee gave Omega United a penalty, 70 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jimmy Hepburn, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FYR of Slough's Junior Chiverton. 3-2. If Martyn Ainsworth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oliver Bow made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Wallbank in the 88th minute of play. Martyn Ainsworth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Junior Chiverton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rdth minute of the game Liam Curtis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Omega United's Oliver Bow was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. FYR of Slough's Ivan Wallbank got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 99th minute the ball was on its way in behind FYR of Slough's goalkeeper Junior Chiverton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FYR of Slough had won after a very even match.
