Stan Hind received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Junior Chiverton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Junior Chiverton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stan Hind in the 15th minute of the match. In the 20th minute Steven Fordham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Junior Chiverton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 minutes, Ivan Wallbank made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Salmon FC's Ashley Morris tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 35 minutes into the match, FYR of Slough's goal looked a bit too open when Stan Hind came free, but Junior Chiverton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute Steven Fordham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Junior Chiverton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Salmon FC's Stan Hind got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 41 minutes, Graeme Sharples mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FYR of Slough and the Salmon FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 42nd match minute, FYR of Slough was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Graeme Sharples to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sly Neville in the 45th minute of play forced Salmon FC's goalkeeper Ashley Morris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Sly Neville made the kick off in the second half. Junior Chiverton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Fordham in the 52nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Steven Fordham managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salmon FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Steven Fordham was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Junior Chiverton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Salmon FC's Ashley Morris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Wallbank in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st minute, one of Salmon FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Salmon FC. 66 minutes into the match, Salmon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sly Neville came free, but Ashley Morris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sammy Abbotts charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sammy Abbotts the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 71 minutes into the game, one of FYR of Slough:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 73rd minute, Salmon FC's Louie Barraclough dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. Steven Fordham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Junior Chiverton having to interfere. Sly Neville blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ashley Morris having to make a save. If Ivan Wallbank had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Steven Fordham in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Junior Chiverton, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Martyn Bell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 95 minutes into the match, Salmon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Wallbank came free, but Ashley Morris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Sly Neville managed to get in a good position for a shot. FYR of Slough's supporters rose to their feet, but Sly Neville was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ashley Morris breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Salmon FC getting a freekick after 99 minutes play. Darius Duffield hit a great ball. FYR of Slough succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Salmon FC had controlled the match.
