Spectators: 7635 (Terracing: 5727, Seating: 1756, VIP seats: 152) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Craig Rutherford got the match started through his kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stan Hind in the 5th minute of play forced Omega United's goalkeeper Oliver Bow to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Philip Gamble fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Omega United's protests and gave Philip Gamble a yellow card for diving instead. 8 minutes into the game, Stan Hind recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Oliver Bow. Stan Hind showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 12th minute, Craig Rutherford left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Omega United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. A collision led to Omega United getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Curtis Beesley hit a great ball. Alfie Rush hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Steven Fordham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oliver Bow having to interfere. The supporters of Salmon FC booed when Omega United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Philip Gamble didn't get a good kick on the ball. Salmon FC's Louie Barraclough couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 29th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Omega United. If Stan Hind had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stan Hind sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Omega United getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Philip Gamble hit a great ball. Stan Hind fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oliver Bow having to interfere. Steven Fordham struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Oliver Bow didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salmon FC. Steven Fordham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Oliver Bow tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stan Hind to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rdth minute of the game Steven Fordham who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Omega United's Oliver Bow was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 57th minute Steven Fordham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliver Bow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martyn Ainsworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Steven Fordham in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oliver Bow prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Omega United's Philip Gamble got a free kick in the 67th minute. The audience was convinced that Stan Hind's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oliver Bow was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Louie Barraclough kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Omega United's goal looked a bit too open when Steven Fordham came free, but Oliver Bow reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stan Hind in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oliver Bow saved Omega United from getting behind. Salmon FC's Stan Hind got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Steven Fordham might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oliver Bow. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Steven Fordham ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Stan Hind's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oliver Bow was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Salmon FC's Louie Barraclough got a free kick in the 96th minute. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 98th minute, when Omega United's Jimmy Hepburn after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Ashley Morris in Salmon FC's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Salmon FC had played much better football throughout.
