When Conal Rigg came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Tufnell Park fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Conal Rigg couldn't finish the play. If Alfie Kennedy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Junior Chiverton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Conal Rigg's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Conal Rigg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, FYR of Slough's Ivan Wallbank got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Conal Rigg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Junior Chiverton having to make a save. FYR of Slough's Sly Neville got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Junior Chiverton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conal Rigg, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alfie Kennedy to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Alfie Kennedy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alfie Kennedy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Sly Neville had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfie Kennedy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Junior Chiverton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfie Kennedy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Junior Chiverton having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Keith Roebuck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The nice shot from Conal Rigg in the 71stth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Junior Chiverton had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. After a rather tough play, FYR of Slough's Allan Gough got a free kick in the 73rd minute. If Alfie Kennedy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Junior Chiverton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfie Kennedy's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. 87 minutes into the match, Conal Rigg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Junior Chiverton. FYR of Slough's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Conal Rigg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 91 minutes, Liam Curtis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FYR of Slough and the Tufnell Park players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 91 played minutes FYR of Slough got a freekick which was hit by Liam Curtis. Conal Rigg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Junior Chiverton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FYR of Slough's Liam Curtis got his second yellow card of the match in the 94th minute. The referee ordered Liam Curtis off the ground. After a rather tough play, FYR of Slough's Liam Curtis got a free kick in the 95th minute. Gary Gerrard, 96 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The FYR of Slough fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Tufnell Park were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
