Ivan Talbot was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 14th minute, Lance Hedley reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ivan Talbot. The goal made the score 2-0. Lance Hedley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Talbot having to interfere. In the 24thth minute of the game Pete Champion who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Richmond FC's Jools Whittingham was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Reuben Beckett charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reuben Beckett the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27thth minute of the game Tris Bullard who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Richmond FC's Jools Whittingham was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Knottingley's goalkeeper Ivan Talbot had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bradley Dingle. Jools Whittingham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pete Champion, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Knottingley's Ivan Talbot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lance Hedley in the 36th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Richmond FC's Lance Hedley dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. With a little luck, Knottingley's Ivan Talbot got control of the ball when Bradley Dingle tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Frank Holbrook fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Knottingley's protests and gave Frank Holbrook a yellow card for diving instead. Frank Holbrook kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. In the 47th minute of the match Den Willets shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ivan Talbot showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

In the 51st match minute, Knottingley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Holbrook to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute, Lance Hedley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivan Talbot was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. If Bradley Dingle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Richmond FC's Bradley Dingle in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Knottingley's goalie prevented a goal. Ivan Talbot stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lance Hedley's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of Knottingley:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Richmond FC:s goal. 69 minutes into the match, Lance Hedley notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Knottingley's Ivan Talbot. Ivan Talbot was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Richmond FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Jeffrey Currie hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Johnathon Bramble during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 76th match minute, Knottingley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnathon Bramble to maneuver through the defense. Lance Hedley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Ivan Talbot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bradley Dingle couldn't finish the play. 81 minutes into the match, Knottingley's goal looked a bit too open when Lance Hedley came free, but Ivan Talbot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Richmond FC's Jools Whittingham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tris Bullard in the 82nd minute of play. Lance Hedley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Ivan Talbot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Knottingley players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Richmond FC.
