But to his dismay, Johnathon Bramble quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ivan Talbot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carolo Aguilar in the 9th minute of the match. Knottingley's Ivan Talbot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carolo Aguilar in the 10th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Carolo Aguilar fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ivan Talbot, passed just outside the right post. Frank Holbrook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vedat Dicle having to interfere. A hard shot by Zane Jenkinson from long distance, 26 minutes into the match, got Ivan Talbot's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Nath Crabtree's late challenge caught a Knottingley's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nath Crabtree helped the player get up and apologised. Nath Crabtree hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Ivan Talbot made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jordi Morera in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute, Jordi Morera got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ivan Talbot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carolo Aguilar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivan Talbot made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Jordi Morera sent off a good shot on target. Jordi Morera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 46 minutes into the game, 1878 Red Devils United's Carolo Aguilar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ivan Talbot made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tris Bullard to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Frank Holbrook shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vedat Dicle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Frank Holbrook had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to 1878 Red Devils United getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Zane Jenkinson hit a great ball. In the 83rd minute Jordi Morera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Talbot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carolo Aguilar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ivan Talbot read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jordi Morera in the 97th minute of play forced Knottingley's goalkeeper Ivan Talbot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 1878 Red Devils United were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
