Spectators: 6747 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1747, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tris Bullard started the match with the kick off. 6 minutes into the match, AFC Bedford's goal looked a bit too open when Tris Bullard came free, but Rory Wilberforce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 7 played minutes AFC Bedford got a freekick which was hit by Den Bramble. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jasper Dickner in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivan Talbot saved Knottingley from getting behind. If Jasper Dickner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ivan Talbot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damon Forbes in the 14th minute of the match. Tris Bullard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tris Bullard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rory Wilberforce made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pete Champion in the 25th minute. Jasper Dickner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivan Talbot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damon Forbes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Damon Forbes struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Ivan Talbot didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC Bedford. Tris Bullard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Knottingley's goalkeeper Ivan Talbot, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Damon Forbes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rory Wilberforce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tris Bullard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tris Bullard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Rory Wilberforce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 49 minutes, Tris Bullard made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. AFC Bedford's Rory Wilberforce tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Damon Forbes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Damon Forbes was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 56th minute. AFC Bedford's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Damon Forbes fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AFC Bedford's protests and gave Damon Forbes a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Knottingley booed when AFC Bedford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jasper Dickner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Den Bramble hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. 66 minutes into the match, AFC Bedford's goal looked a bit too open when Tris Bullard came free, but Rory Wilberforce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pete Champion recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tris Bullard in the 71st minute of play forced AFC Bedford's goalkeeper Rory Wilberforce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Tris Bullard came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Knottingley fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tris Bullard couldn't finish the play. Ivan Talbot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damon Forbes in the 82nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jasper Dickner got free with Ivan Talbot in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rory Wilberforce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pete Champion, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexander Van Der Hoorn during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rory Wilberforce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pete Champion in the 95th minute of play. If Pete Champion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Knottingley's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
