Brigade's Seth Oates played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Byron Bowler in the 10th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Brigade's goalkeeper Seth Oates had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lance Lomas. In the 18th match minute, Fortaleza EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perry Stonebridge to maneuver through the defense. Brigade's Jamie Younger got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benjamin Purkiss took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mickey Coyle. Fortaleza EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Mickey Coyle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jamie Younger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Crispin Elvins took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mickey Coyle. Fortaleza EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jamie Younger in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mickey Coyle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 39 minutes into the game, Jamie Younger cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Mickey Coyle was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jake Lilley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. After a rather tough play, Fortaleza EC's Brendon Canning got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 55 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Brigade's Jake Lilley fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Austen Haley got his second yellow card in the match during the 58th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Brigade's Jamie Younger was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 59th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Jake Lilley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Brigade's zone, Vance Creighton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Seth Oates came out of the goal and Vance Creighton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jamie Younger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Fortaleza EC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Patrick Pope hit a great ball. With a little luck, Fortaleza EC's Mickey Coyle got control of the ball when Jake Lilley tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jamie Younger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mickey Coyle was relentless in the 89th minute of the game.
