Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tristan Burbeary took the kick off in the first half of the match. Mitch FC's Joel Silk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nial Short in the 2nd minute of play. Kris McGrath fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Kearney having to interfere. In the 5th minute, Crispin Simms hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joel Silk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nial Short in the 7th minute of play. In the 16th minute Tristan Burbeary shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dale Kearney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Cheddar getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Perry Newton hit a great ball. Dale Kearney didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kris McGrath went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fraser Mitchell-King during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cheddar's Fraser Mitchell-King got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute of the match Brendon Preece sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dale Kearney skillfully saved the ball. Cheddar's Nicky Ward got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Mitch FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Graham Blewitt hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bart Philpott in the 37th minute of play forced Cheddar's goalkeeper Dale Kearney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Kris McGrath got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tristan Burbeary's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dale Kearney read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Tristan Burbeary sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kris McGrath charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kris McGrath the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tristan Burbeary received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Dale Kearney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nial Short was the one to do the kick off. Kris McGrath sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute, Kris McGrath got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Cheddar's zone, Kris McGrath stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dale Kearney came out of the goal and Kris McGrath tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tristan Burbeary fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Kearney having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Cheddar's Crispin Simms got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Mitch FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Brendon Preece in the 66th minute. A nice corner shot did that Brendon Preece got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dale Kearney quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Tristan Burbeary sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nicky Ward had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute of the match, Tristan Burbeary tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dale Kearney saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Tristan Burbeary received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Dale Kearney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cheddar's Dale Kearney proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Cheddar from getting a goal against them. In the 79th minute, Tristan Burbeary made a precise shot to the right of Dale Kearney. Cheddar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Kris McGrath could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Dale Kearney made a huge save. With a little luck, Cheddar's Dale Kearney got control of the ball when Kris McGrath tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dale Kearney came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Mitch FC's Kris McGrath. But to his dismay, Kris McGrath quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After 91 played minutes Mitch FC got a freekick which was hit by Graham Blewitt. The audience was convinced that Tristan Burbeary's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dale Kearney was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. When Tristan Burbeary came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Mitch FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tristan Burbeary couldn't finish the play. Dale Kearney made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kris McGrath in the 100th minute. In the 102nd minute of the match Mitch FC got a corner. Cheddar's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Brendon Preece ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Mitch FC's corner Brendon Preece fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dale Kearney quite easily take care of the ball. Mitch FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
