But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrew Cookson couldn't finish the play. Patrick Lagdon kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. A collision led to Ilkley City getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Gwyn Beresford hit a great ball. In the 15th minute Romeo Turk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodd York saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
