Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Matty Letheren got the match started through his kick off. Ilkley City's Andrew Cookson was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 3rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Andrew Cookson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Geoff Furlong. That made the score 2-0 in the 7 minute of play. 11 minutes into the game, Hexham Town F.C.'s Matty Letheren nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rodd York made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Geoff Furlong made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Andrew Cookson sent off a good shot on target. In the 19th minute, Billy Milburn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geoff Furlong was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Charles Hickson. Hexham Town F.C.'s Geoff Furlong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hayden Wood in the 22nd minute of play. Matty Letheren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Rodd York tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 27 minutes of play, Hexham Town F.C.'s Matty Letheren made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rodd York was left in no man's land by his defense there! Geoff Furlong made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Alan Munday sent off a good shot on target. Geoff Furlong made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alan Munday in the 35th minute. Geoff Furlong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Keanu Mason, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Ilkley City's Andrew Cookson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-2. 47 minutes into the match, Hexham Town F.C.'s goalkeeper Geoff Furlong had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Keanu Mason.

Robert Bator took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Geoff Furlong. Hexham Town F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Geoff Furlong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrew Cookson in the 54th minute of play. Hexham Town F.C.'s Matty Letheren got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 57 played minutes Ilkley City got a freekick which was hit by Charles Hickson. Charles Hickson charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Charles Hickson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 71 minutes into the match, Hexham Town F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Hayden Wood came free, but Geoff Furlong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alan Munday's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Geoff Furlong read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Geoff Furlong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alan Munday, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 82 minutes into the match, Ilkley City's Patrick Lagdon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Geoff Furlong narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hexham Town F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Charles Hickson was slow to take the kick. During this time Ilkley City's players had a chance to rest. Charles Hickson made a great header on Ilkley City's corner, it was just that Hexham Town F.C.'s Geoff Furlong managed to reach the ball for a save. Geoff Furlong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrew Cookson in the 85th minute of the match. If Philip Cornish had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Geoff Furlong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keanu Mason in the 93rd minute of play. Ilkley City walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
