After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Chaz Murtagh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blofield's supporters rose to their feet, but Chaz Murtagh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodd York breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Blofield booed when Ilkley City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. After 88 played minutes Ilkley City got a freekick which was hit by Hayden Wood. Doug Haugue made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrew Cookson in the 94th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ilkley City fans cheered their team off the field, for while Blofield had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
