Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Matty Letheren got the match started through his kick off. The supporters of Barnoldswick FC booed when Hexham Town F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Graeme Moyle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chip Byfield showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stevie Kennedy in the 11th minute of the match. Hexham Town F.C.'s Geoff Furlong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jack Hay in the 18th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Hexham Town F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Felix Walls came free, but Geoff Furlong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Billy Milburn charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Billy Milburn the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Hexham Town F.C. getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Billy Milburn hit a great ball. Daniel Wroe hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute of the game, Felix Walls landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 42 played minutes Hexham Town F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Graeme Moyle.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pete Monk to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Danny Blacknell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barnoldswick FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hexham Town F.C. the free kick. 58 minutes into the game, Barnoldswick FC's Jack Hay nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Geoff Furlong made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Geoff Furlong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ashley Broadhurst, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chip Byfield didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Matty Letheren went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Chip Byfield was a little too slow when Matty Letheren got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 1-2. Hexham Town F.C.'s Geoff Furlong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pete Monk in the 74th minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Jack Hay cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Geoff Furlong was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Pete Monk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Austin Langley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Barnoldswick FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
