Seating: 1200, VIP seats: 10) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Matt Durrant kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jim Webster in the 4th minute of play forced IceTigers's goalkeeper Teddy Sparks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 6 minutes into the match, Jim Webster notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of IceTigers's Teddy Sparks. Teddy Sparks was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Grant Haskell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of IceTigers booed when Blofield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norman Grantham didn't get a good kick on the ball. Doug Haugue showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andy Gilchrist, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Teddy Sparks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chaz Murtagh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. IceTigers's Teddy Sparks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chaz Murtagh in the 22nd minute of play. Jake Kendall hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Matt Durrant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doug Haugue having to interfere. In the 30th match minute, IceTigers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Den Gildea to maneuver through the defense. Den Gildea charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Den Gildea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Den Gildea hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Blofield's Chaz Murtagh couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for IceTigers. Teddy Sparks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Webster in the 44th minute of play. Teddy Sparks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Webster in the 46th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chaz Murtagh was the one to do the kick off. Dennis Broom took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Teddy Sparks. Teddy Sparks dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. With a little luck, IceTigers's Teddy Sparks got control of the ball when Jim Webster tried to sneak it across the goal line. Doug Haugue took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matt Durrant, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, IceTigers's Den Gildea got a free kick in the 64th minute. With a little luck, IceTigers's Teddy Sparks got control of the ball when Jim Webster tried to sneak it across the goal line. Curtis Huckerby lost his temper 69 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave Blofield a penalty, 70 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Chaz Murtagh, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of IceTigers's Teddy Sparks. 0-3. Teddy Sparks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chaz Murtagh in the 73rd minute of the match. Jim Webster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 84 minutes into the game, Dennis Broom recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Teddy Sparks. Dennis Broom showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Dennis Broom could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Teddy Sparks made a huge save. Andy Gilchrist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Andy Gilchrist managed to get in a good position for a shot. IceTigers's supporters rose to their feet, but Andy Gilchrist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doug Haugue breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chaz Murtagh received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Teddy Sparks came out and tried to block the shot, but Chaz Murtagh slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 93rd minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Blofield eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
