Mitch Mallaby guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Curtis Bambrook made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Damian Salmon sent off a good shot on target. Damian Salmon in the 16thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Curtis Bambrook, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 18 played minutes Countesthorpe got a freekick which was hit by Len Abbotts. After 20 played minutes, Hove FC's Freddy Pearce shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Curtis Bambrook came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hove FC reached it. 25 minutes into the match, Hove FC's goal looked a bit too open when Allan Pack came free, but Mitch Mallaby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Hove FC's Mick Hartley got a free kick in the 25th minute. Hove FC's Charles Pearch got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 33rd minute, Damian Salmon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Charles Pearch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 44th minute, Countesthorpe's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Damian Salmon fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Curtis Bambrook showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charles Pearch in the 46th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

If Charles Pearch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hove FC's Mitch Mallaby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ashley Chamberlain in the 63rd minute of play. Mitch Mallaby was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Allan Pack showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 67 minute of play. A collision led to Countesthorpe getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Sidney Holt hit a great ball. Damian Salmon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 73 minutes into the match, Countesthorpe's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Salmon came free, but Curtis Bambrook reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Countesthorpe's zone, Charles Pearch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Curtis Bambrook came out of the goal and Charles Pearch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78thth minute of the game Charles Pearch who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Countesthorpe's Curtis Bambrook was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Countesthorpe's goalkeeper Curtis Bambrook, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Countesthorpe's Curtis Bambrook played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Salmon in the 85th minute of play. Curtis Bambrook showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damian Salmon, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 89th match minute, Countesthorpe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Scott Baird to maneuver through the defense. Charles Pearch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Curtis Bambrook tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Charles Pearch in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Curtis Bambrook saved Countesthorpe from getting behind. Countesthorpe were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Hove FC's much stronger midfield.
