Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rodney Slator took the kick off in the first half of the match. Dominic Duke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bulwell AFC's Rodney Slator got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bulwell AFC's goalkeeper Jools Cardwell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Curtis Bambrook stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodney Slator's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. In the 18th minute Dominic Duke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Curtis Bambrook saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ashley Chamberlain in the 20th minute of play forced Bulwell AFC's goalkeeper Jools Cardwell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodney Slator fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Curtis Bambrook having to interfere. Curtis Bambrook made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodney Slator in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ashley Chamberlain to strike the kick off in the second half. Rodney Slator blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Curtis Bambrook having to make a save. In the 55th minute, Dominic Duke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Rodney Slator's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Curtis Bambrook was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. 58 minutes into the game, Sidney Holt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Countesthorpe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bulwell AFC the free kick. Sidney Holt hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute of the match Bulwell AFC got a corner. Countesthorpe's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Brian Tompkins ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Brian Tompkins almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Countesthorpe's Curtis Bambrook did a great save. The crowd rose to their feet as Romeo Steed kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Curtis Bambrook. That made the score 0-2 in the 64 minute of play. 70 minutes in the game, Rodney Slator fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Curtis Bambrook having to interfere. Rodney Slator sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dominic Duke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Bulwell AFC booed when Countesthorpe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chip Barratt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Curtis Bambrook made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dominic Duke in the 82nd minute of play. In the 89th minute, Rodney Slator got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dominic Duke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rodney Slator struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Curtis Bambrook didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bulwell AFC. After a defensive mix-up in Countesthorpe's zone, Rodney Slator stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Curtis Bambrook came out of the goal and Rodney Slator tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Countesthorpe fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Bulwell AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
