Spectators: 7538 (Terracing: 5655, Seating: 1733, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Rodney Slator got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute Dominic Duke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Byron Armstrong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Freddie Sykes's late challenge caught a Bulwell AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Freddie Sykes helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Studley AFC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Rupert Dingle hit a great ball. Dominic Duke struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Byron Armstrong didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bulwell AFC. In the 25thth minute of the game Rodney Slator who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Studley AFC's Byron Armstrong was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Dominic Duke sped through Studley AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Byron Armstrong. Rodney Slator recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 35 minutes into the game, Bulwell AFC's Dominic Duke nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Byron Armstrong made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 41 minutes into the game, one of Studley AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 44th minute there was a penalty for Bulwell AFC. Brian Tompkins stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Byron Armstrong. 0-4. When Gwyn King fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bulwell AFC's protests and gave Gwyn King a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 48 minutes, Vic Rain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Studley AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vic Rain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vic Rain to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Studley AFC's Geoff Nancy got a free kick in the 53rd minute. A collision led to Studley AFC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Geoff Nancy hit a great ball. The long shot by Brian Tompkins in the 55th minute really tested Byron Armstrong's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodney Slator in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Byron Armstrong saved Studley AFC from getting behind. Dominic Duke's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Byron Armstrong skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A hard shot 63 in the game by Dominic Duke from a close distance when the talented Byron Armstrong managed to make a qualified save. Studley AFC's players were relieved. In the 68th minute, Rupert Dingle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Studley AFC defense, Dominic Duke kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Byron Armstrong. The Studley AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Byron Armstrong should have stopped the shot. Rodney Slator recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Byron Armstrong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodney Slator in the 80th minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Brian Tompkins sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Studley AFC's Byron Armstrong didn't even have to move. Studley AFC's Byron Armstrong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodney Slator in the 85th minute of play. After having played for 90 minutes, Dominic Duke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bulwell AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dominic Duke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 94th minute, Pat Wood got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dominic Duke could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Byron Armstrong made a huge save. The Studley AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Bulwell AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
