Illusion XI's Seth Attwood got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 7 minutes into the game, Dylon Bodsworth was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Piwkol FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Illusion XI the free kick. In the 9th minute Conal Lydiate shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joe Fleetwood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Junior Duckworth could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Buster Beard made a huge save. After 16 minutes of play, Piwkol FC's John Goodwick made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joe Fleetwood was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 26th minute, Seth Attwood fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Buster Beard, passed just outside the right post. After 34 minutes of play, Illusion XI's Junior Duckworth made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Buster Beard was left in no man's land by his defense there! Piwkol FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Seth Attwood scored to the left of an out of position Buster Beard, making the score, 3-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Seth Attwood to make the kick off. In the 54th minute of the match, Conal Lydiate tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Joe Fleetwood saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Buster Beard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Junior Duckworth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute, Seth Attwood left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Illusion XI fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. After a rather tough play, Illusion XI's Nial Beesley got a free kick in the 60th minute. Seth Attwood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Buster Beard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Junior Duckworth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Seth Attwood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Buster Beard having to interfere. Seth Attwood might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Buster Beard. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Seth Attwood ran back to his position shaking his head. Piwkol FC's Buster Beard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seth Attwood in the 72nd minute of play. In the 74th minute Junior Duckworth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Buster Beard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 91 minutes, Graham Hellen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piwkol FC and the Illusion XI players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of Piwkol FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Illusion XI:s goal. In the 93rd minute there was a penalty for Illusion XI. Ashley Greenwood stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Buster Beard. 7-1. When Chaz Parsons fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Illusion XI's protests and gave Chaz Parsons a yellow card for diving instead. Chaz Parsons hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
