After a defensive mix-up in Annscroft AFC's zone, Matthew Stamp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Austen Byrne came out of the goal and Matthew Stamp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Shawn Banim during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Marek Herring fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chaz Downs having to interfere. Chaz Downs made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Johnathon Jenkinson sent off a good shot on target. Matthew Stamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Annscroft AFC's goalkeeper Austen Byrne, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 29 minutes into the match, Matthew Stamp had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Austen Byrne. Annscroft AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Matthew Stamp was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Jake Lambert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Austen Byrne having to interfere. Austen Byrne didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jake Lambert went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jake Lambert was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, sunderland afc's goal looked a bit too open when Marek Herring came free, but Chaz Downs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Matthew Stamp had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Austen Byrne. Barrie Dobson scored 1-5 in the 98th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Austen Byrne, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The sunderland afc supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing sunderland afc would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
